Lowes Home Improvement in Richmond Providing the Site
(Lexington, KY) – The public will have an opportunity to safely destroy documents containing personal information at a free Community Shred Day event hosted by the Better Business Bureau serving Central & Eastern Kentucky, Cintas Document Management and Lowes Home Improvement.
The event is set for Saturday, September 15, 2012 from 9am-12 Noon at Lowes Home Improvement, 814 Eastern Bypass, Richmond, KY.
"We are pleased to be able to offer another free identity protection event to the public in another part of our BBB's 64-county service area," said Jack Frank, BBB President & CEO. "We'd also like to thank BBB Accredited Businesses Cintas Document Management and Lowes Home Improvement for their assistance."
“Identity theft is a growing threat for individuals and businesses across the nation,” explained Karen Carnahan, President and COO of Cintas Document Management Division. “This event will bring awareness of proper document management to the community and provide them with a secure method to safely dispose of information. More importantly, it will provide individuals with the peace of mind that their sensitive information will not end up in the wrong hands.”
People can bring documents to the event and have them shredded by on-site, certified Cintas employees. From drop-off to destruction, all documents will be constantly monitored and protected. A strict 5 box limit will be enforced to reduce waiting times (no businesses please). Paper clips and rubber bands are permitted but Cintas cannot accept CD’s, binders, electronics, pharmaceutical bottles or other media.
BBB staff will be on hand to assist consumers and distribute BBB tips and information.
